Strategies for Academic Success

In order to be successful in college, students need to learn how to best study, manage their time, and utilize the resources available to them. It is ok to ask for help! If a student is struggling in a course, the first person the student should talk to is the professor; he or she will be able to provide information on how to be successful in that course. Academic advisors can also help students identify challenging issues and make referrals to appropriate campus resources. In addition, the following printed resources are available:

Many departments on campus offer peer tutoring services; students should contact their professor or the Department Chair for the specific class for details.
