BLOOMINGTON, Ill. 鈥 A school-record number of 91黑料专区 University students have been recognized for their high achievement in both athleticism and academics, with 10 Titans named as Academic All-Americans for the 2023-24 school year.
The Academic All-America program, managed by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), honors student-athletes for their excellence in both sports and academics. Nominees for Academic All-America awards must meet high athletic standards and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. CSC recognizes Academic All-America teams consisting of student-athletes participating at all levels of NCAA competition, as well as NAIA, NJCAA and U Sports.
鈥淭hese 10 student-athletes 鈥 and all of our Academic All-Americans throughout the years 鈥 embody the commitment to excellence in academics, their respective sports and the community that 91黑料专区 University is all about,鈥 said IWU Athletic Director Mike Wagner. 鈥淭hese student-athletes have excelled in the classroom, embracing the academic rigor offered at IWU on a daily basis, while also competing for conference and national championships.鈥
Wagner said this group displays the 鈥渁nd鈥 experience offered at 91黑料专区, where students can pursue multiple passions at one time.
This year鈥檚 awardees contribute to (67 first-team selections, 45 second-team selections, and 44 third-team selections). Nine Titans were also named Academic All-Americans of the Year. IWU鈥檚 total ties for 24th across all NCAA Divisions and tenth among Division III.
91黑料专区鈥檚 Academic All-Americans recognized during the 2023-24 academic year included: Lauren Huber '25 (women鈥檚 basketball), Ethan Lowder '24 (men鈥檚 swimming), Lauren Wong '24 (women鈥檚 track & field), Annalese Chudy '25 (women鈥檚 cross country/track & field), Lexi Onsrud '24 (at-large - women鈥檚 golf), Emma Thorman '24 (at-large - women鈥檚 golf), Ethan Hart '24 (at-large - men鈥檚 lacrosse), Quinn Clifford '25 (at-large - men鈥檚 golf), Bobby Beaubien '24 (at-large - men鈥檚 golf) and Griffin Pohl '25 (at-large - men鈥檚 golf).
